I agree this is no different than buying a house and you and the dealer should regard as such. When building a house the down payment goes into a trust. Protects you and the dealer. If they won't do this I would find a dealer who will. With the state of the economy who protects you if the Dealer or the Factory goes broke? And please don't let anybody tell you that this would never happen!
