Now every feels that they are number one and to HExx with everyone else. All they are concerned with is their wants.

We sat through a Leave no Trace session where they had done a test on sign reading ability of people. They places one person with a series of signs at the bottom of the trail and another at the top. Both had walkie-talkies and told when a sign was changed. The person at the top, was asking people as they came by if they saw a sign and what it said. Over 80% of the people never saw a sign. It was a 2 ft x 3 ft sign on a post with bright colors. It proved, most people do not read signs.

It’s all in the up-bringing and schools

We don't seem to have a national consensus anymore around rules, norms, or respect for legitimate authority, or even whether there is such a thing as legitimate authority.

Again, just my opinion.
I’ll mannered society misfits who feel the wold owes them for their existence!

You're missing the good points:
No signs were stolen.
No one was assaulted.

Teach your children well

I’m proud of my adult children learning from lessons I’ve taught them, the same as I learned from my parents. Think before you speak, Read and Understand before you make your decision, and Learn the laws and rules as they apply to the situation. If people out there don’t understand simple principles, there’s no way you can expect them to follow them. The haves and have nots also applies to intelligence not just money. Excuse my rant…

How many motorists obey the posted speed limit....either on the freeway or inside city limits... 10% ? Additionally, there are rarely consequences for bad actions. Either speeding or white collar crime or _________ Fill in the blank.

I don't like what you did or are doing, so I'm going to hit you. Brilliant parenting. You can't find a way to change their behavior without hitting them. I'm 68 and raised 3 great kids and never resorted to violence against them. One. Single. Time.

Assumptions w/o more content are less usefull as basis for comments.

The message was to point out there are some good people left in this tangled up world.

Alan Brunacini, Chief, Phoenix Fire Dept, said he could boil a 4” thick policy manual down to two words:

“Be nice”

I had the pleasure of meeting him when he sat on my oral board for battalion chief. I managed to amuse him while still rising to the top of the list. It was an honor and a pleasure and I firmly believe in his message, hence post #122.
