Which credit cards do you use?
We put 99% of our purchases on three credit cards. We rarely ever use cash, even for the smallest purchase. Each of them gives us cash rebates. We pay them off each month so we never pay any interest charges.
We use the Chase Freedom Visa card for most of our purchases. Each calendar quarter they pay 5% cash rebates on specific purchases. We get 1% cash rebates on all other purchases.
We have the Sams Club Mastercard which gives us 3% cash rebates on restaurants.
Finally, we have the PenFed Cash Rewards Visa card. With it we get 5% cash rebates on all fuel purchases if we pay at the pump.
We get several hundred dollars a year in cash rebates! Works for us!

I do the same thing with Discover, never carry a balance and always sign up for the 5% categories each quarter. The only other thing I use is Gas Buddy - I compare the savings to see which one is greater when filling up!

Good Sam Visa, which gives good rewards that we mainly use for Amazon Gift Cards. We have a Chase Amazon Visa that mainly gets used on Amazon.

Which credit cards do you use?
American Express for Membership Rewards...wide variety things, including gift cards. Get up to 5x points sometimes during offers and cash back on select national merchants every month like spend $25 at BP get $5 credit back on your card.
PNC Bank Visa for cash back 4% for gas, 3%for groceries, 2% for restaurants and 1% everything else.
Shell Fuel Rewards ( not a credit card and is free). AAA members get automatic .05c a gallon off when uploaded to the rewards card. Upload your credit cards to the rewards card, you get to double dip on fuel savings and credit card rewards. The Shell Rewards card has special offers from merchants that when your registered credit card is used, it stacks cents off per gallon when filling up. Ive had $2.00 per gallon off before.

2 different BOA Cash Back, Chase Cash Back
Never carry a balance ---no fees/no interest and I get monies direct deposited into my account
Must be a BUNCH of folks carrying balances/paying interest so all of US get monies back from the CC Companies
Cause I'm not paying them and seems you folks aren't either

Another tie in for the Shell rewards card is with T-Mobile. T-Mobile has T-Mobile Tuesday with various offers including .10/gallon off, limit 20 gallons, though. For a while last summer it was .25/gallon.
BOA for most stuff with 3% for gas, 2% for groceries. Looks like it's time to get a different card for gas and get me a 5% card.
I carry three credit cards when traveling. From time to time one will get hacked and I/the card issuer will shut it down.

I use Chase (Southwest Airlines) gives me points toward free flights and most of the year I'm getting bonus points that earn me free companion fares. We pay ours off usually ever month. Though we haven't flown since the pandemic I use some to fly my older DWs sister and husband down to visit us in sunny Florida last year and my daughter and granddaughter. Now it waits until things get better so we can do it some more. I have several others I rarely use, that I've had for many years back but canceling a credit card out can have a negative impact on your credit which to my I've never understood. There's no annual fee so it not a big deal IMHO. They say it impacts your credit utilization ratio meaning with less credit available when you do charge some it impacts that ratio and increases it especially if a long time credit card and in great standing. They say there's other reason as well just this is one they mention the most.

Amex for online/on the road/travel purchases. We like the airline miles and what seems to be good security.
Bank debit/ visa for local around home stuff

Amazon mostly for purchases (points). When we start traveling I plan to use the BOA MasterCard for the points and mainly so we can track our actual travel expenses while away from the S&B. Plus, I can pay it off using my phone app with a simple transfer from checking. One and done. We don't carry balances anymore.

I heard that PenFed is no longer issuing the Cash Rewards card with the 5% fuel rebate. Is that correct?

Costco executive mainly .. get 800-1000 back ea year as I charge almost everything on that card. I use no cash unless I have to.I've had the same 80 bucks in my wallet for the last 2 months. Then amex delta air for travel points and a bank Visa that gives 5% back monthly on all streaming, internet and cellular companies. All those services that monthly charges qualify are auto paid from that account. A couple more cards I don't carry are used occasionally to keep them open but are basically just reserve just in case any card becomes compromised and that hasn't happened in 6 years of travel... Knock on wood. All are set to autopay statement balance monthly.
