I like them both but Hunt For Red October is objectively much more recognized so it is probably the "right' answer in your competition.

Who won?

Yes, and the sets were full size cut-away-sections that moved so realistically, some actors got seasick.

Neither. After all these responses I realized it was the wrong question. Should have asked what is his favorite.

I can't believe this wasn't mentioned, unless I missed it.

Crimson Tide, Denzel Washington, Gene Hackman.

Not a movie, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Loved the Flying Sub.

the 1961 movie with Walter Pigeon and Peter Lorre was better. as an adult my memory of the first season of the TV version was not bad but it devolved into the "monster of the week". but as a 14-yr old kid I thought the show was great!

Hunt for Red October and Das Boot. Both based in reality....spent lots of time on the P boat so I am familiar.

I didn't want to go there with Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

I suspect it would be pretty cheesy by today's special effects standards.

Yea, I was joking, but when you're 6/7, it's great.
