People "believe in God". Believing in UFO's is by definition stupid.

UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. How can you believe in something you can't identify. It is either there or it is not. Belief has nothing to do with it.

I think what you are saying is you believe there are extraterrestrials who travel in flying objects and visit out planet. This is a good subject for debate and I see many posts that do discuss this.

The US military is interested in UFO's for two reasons. One is they are flying devices they don't want anyone to know about. The inevitable sightings can be explained away as long as they control the narrative.

The other is they think it is possible that others could be building and flying secret devices and the military wants to know what they are and if it is necessary to defend against them.

In either case, you cannot expect a factual investigation and report. They will concoct a lie. They have done this in the past and there is no reason for them to change their behavior.

At least one pilot has lost his job because he insisted he saw something impossible and the official explanation could not possibly be true.

Many decades later the true story came out. It was the secret surveillance plane often called the "Black Bird". It was flying "impossible" trajectories from US to Russia and back. Its primary purpose was to surveil Russian nuclear missile installations.

Believing that extraterrestrials are visiting our planet and have a diabolical urge to keep it a secret from us is far fetched. There is no evidence for that. It is of course possible, but unlikely.

It makes for great sci-fi movies and books. Oh wait, sci-fi has often foretold what was later discovered. The idea is both scary and exciting.

I believe most "UFO's" are actually things being tested by our government. Who know for sure what goes on at Area 51? How many other "Area 51's" are there? They managed to keep stealth technology secret for a very long time.

I saw some things at the The White Sands Missile Range Museum that sure looked like flying saucers.

The history of science is full of theories based on observed measurements that no one at the time could identify or rationalize. Some of the great discoveries in science have started out with scientists saying that they had no idea why something was happening. They believed their measurements but could not identify the cause. One simple example was the Michelson and Morley experiments back in the late 19th century, which ended up leading to the Einstein Theory of Special Relativity.

I almost used Quantum Entanglement, Einstein's "Spooky Action at a Distance" instead, but assumed I would then to do some explaining about what that was, so the Michelson Morley Experiments seemed like a simpler example.

I don't remember who it was who said that it was not that Universe was stranger than you imagine, but it was stranger than you can imagine.

I'm just gonna pretend I know what that is!

I am confident that UFOs exist. I don't believe they are extraterrestrial. But I could only choose yes or no, so I voted no.

Where do UFOs come from? Not sure. Secret military project? Demons from beneath the south pole? I don't know. But, despite growing up with Star Trek, I don't think there's life on other planets coming to our planet. Too far, too much radiation, and other factors make it highly unlikely IMO.

Hmm, if I said I believed ufos were extra terrestrial or if I said they were not. I would be lying.
My only honest answer is, I don't know.
However, there are so many stars in so many galaxies being orbitted by so many planets that I can't see how there can't be some form of intelligent life out there. Now couple that with how young our star is and how young our civilization is when compared to the other stars out there, I believe it is possible ufos are extra terrestrial. I'm not quite to probable, but possible.

I keep an open mind regarding UFO's. There's too much evidence that "something" is "out there". If they're real, that could point to an advanced civilization not found on earth, as observed by the way theses "crafts" maneuver, clearly beyond our understanding of the laws of physics Theoretically. if an earthling was aboard one of them, he wouldn't be able to survive the maneuvers that have been observed.

Another question would be, are these beings benign, or do they have some evil intent?

If they do exist I have to question why no one ever gets a good photo of them, particularly with all the millions of advanced smart phones out there the last couple of years with high resolution telephoto lenses. Instead all we see to ever get is blurry lights, and what appears to lens flare and the like.

If these so advanced civilizations can travel millions of light years and orbit earth why wouldn't they land and say:
HI how can we be of help
OR
Kneel we are your new Masters
