Who or how to contact Amazon about missing item in order

I don't order a lot from Amazon and never had any problem with my orders.
Items for motorhome maintenance came today just as was stated on initial order but one item is missing in box.
How, who, or what do I do or contact to report a missing small item. And it just happened to be the most expensive of the 3. Small but expensive.

I have the order number but not a picture of the whole order. Printer wouldn't work.

Your Amazon account has previous and current orders on record. Click on the top left hash marks. From there you can review everything past and current. Click image for larger version

If you go the Amazon page for your account and go to orders it should show some actions. Try contacting the seller and explain what happened, they should correct the mistake.


I accidentally ordered the wrong belt for my zero turn, contacted the seller and returned and got my money back with no problems.

Usually on Your Orders on that particular order there will be a 'report a problem with this order' selection to the side. Click on that and go from there. They rarely question problems about orders and just issue a refund or reorder the item. If you have to talk to someone then the 'chat' works well in my experience and I order a LOT from them.

Many times your order will be split up and coming from different shippers and they'll arrive on different days or even backordered. Examine your order confirmation carefully. Is the one you're missing separated from the others?

That customer service number is probably correct, but . . . a recording says they are not responding to calls during this virus. May be months before I get help. A package was ordered and Amazon sent me a text that it was delivered. Even showed a photo of the package on a porch. But, not my porch. I have no idea where that package was placed. I responded to the text that I did not rec' it. And no further contact by Amazon to me. I think I may call credit card company and see if I can get money back.

So far everything shows all 3 items were shipped at same time. Nothing shipped from separate shipper. Drawing a blank on all the web pages as far as any problem. Shows sold by one company and shipped by Amazon.

Hard to get good help anymore.

I have seen news reports where the delivery driver took a picture of the delivery left on a buyer's porch (as they are supposed to do), but then the Ring doorbell video'd the driver being a "porch pirate" & taking the pkg himself.

First step is to contact the seller. Then if no response, contact Amazon. Although, as you mentioned, it's hard get hold of them during this pandemic.

Amazon have a chat function, I used it twice a couple of weeks ago. Very easy to use. Had to wait 2 mins to get someone.

Just google Amazon chat.

Amazon Chat worked fine, I guess. At least I'm being promised a refund for the missing item. Since it was from a 3rd party Amazon couldn't replace the part. Seems odd since the part was included with the other two items in my order and it came from a 3rd party at that time.
Appreciate all the information about Amazon since I didn't even know where to start. Guess I'll have to go to the 3rd party for the part I need.
