Expecting that would be like expecting some people understand my post, courtesy or courtesy on the net.

Some people just need to be near others to feel safe. But they don’t know who they’re pulling up next to.
A couple of buddies and i were boondocking in a remote area near Kernville. It was not a campground and was hard to get the trailers/RV into but it could be done. We were nowhere close to anybody.
Come morning we hear talking. When we exited our rigs there were some young kids tenting within about 30’ of my MH. We exchanged pleasantries and I asked why they picked this remote spot to park. Because they felt safer being near others out in the woods. I told them we were there because we were on the run from the law and might need hostages. The looks on their faces was priceless. We then explained we were cops and they were fine but they needed to be more selective about where they camped. Some people are off the grid for very good reasons of their own.

Obviously they were new to NC. Where I live people camp on their own properties in their fields or woods and will put a quick end to you first and ask questions later.

Just next to me the property owner has an RV and TT with full hookups. I can only imagine if that guy woke up to someone camping on his property. Lol We have a MH on our property. Up the road the neighbor lives in the city but has woods next to their hay field that they tent camp in. You can never be sure whose property you are on and where you think you are in the middle of nowhere but their house is on the other side of the trees you can’t see through.

Yes, we all are plus they said they were quiet so as not to disturb us and in our case, just a wee bit of alcohol had been consumed prior to bedtime.

What bothers me the most when sleeping at Walmart is all the shoppers. Do people really have to go shopping at Walmart while I'm sleeping!

OR.... (and this has happened several times)

Doing the wally-dock/Bass-Pro/Cabella's afternoon/overnight thing..
and hear voices REALLY close...
Shoppers walking around comparing all the "shiny RV's" to what they have or have viewed in the RV stealerships...then they knock on your door just to ask who makes your particular brand...(And No the name tag on the front and rear is not just a mis-spelled Fleetwood name tag.).ggggrrrrr

Try staying at Lowes, Home Depot, Cracker Barrel, church parking lots, out of business convenience store or any shopping center. I've spent many nights at a strip mall NEXT to the drive way to Wal Mart. I've also used the employee parking lot at fire stations.

There are a lot of places to park a 34' MH with a Saturn toad.

We pulled into a deserted restaurant one night about 11:30 PM, come morning, we found out it wasn't deserted and we were blocked in so we went in for breakfast and told them who we were so they knew they were making money on us. We finally left about 10:45 after talking to a lot of regulars and telling them about our "fantastic" life style.

I’ve decided it’s the sheeple mentality and it’s just not parking lots. We went swimming in the lake. There is a long wall where everyone puts their stuff. We put our towels and drinks on the wall. We go over to get our stuff and there is a bunch of towels right up against ours and a family set out in front of our towels so we were practically stepping on them to get our stuff. I look down the wall and nothing, no one else. It was all shaded down the wall so it wasn’t that, were our towels more inviting? Did they think we had the best spot? Cause it was nothing special. Who knows.

I ask the Walmart people if it is OK to stay and they say it is OK just park away from the store.

I park away from the store near the road out, across several parking spaces.

1 guy parks along side me - thankfully, no generator

1 Class A parks across from me, the aisle width away and runs his generator starting after I fall asleep. It was so hot I was naked (not a pretty sight) while sleeping.

WHY? There was plenty of room in a corner of the lot he could have parked and ran his generator all he wanted!

Let’s see you where hot and naked and they where cool and comfortable and can’t hear a thing because their air was running.
