But point is made that evildoers look for easy victims and no security. Something all should consider and prepare for.

The third thing about the article is it is using an account from a criminal back in 1994. The article was written in 2000 near as I can tell. Walmart has come a long way when it comes to security.
The fourth thing. The link to the website. I giggled a little when I clicked on it. They have moved on to something else to point attention to.
I wish people wouldn't promote fear mongering by posting inaccurate, incomplete or out of date information.

Why? Dunno. Maybe it's:
Your animal magnetism?
Miniskirt and wet tank top?
'Free beer' sign?
It's hot, you leave your drapes open, and laze around nekkid?
Shoot, you might want to charge admission.... but if it's as bad as you say, charge for the supreme privilege of chucking rotted produce at you.
I know I would.

I park away from the store near the road out, across several parking spaces.
1 guy parks along side me - thankfully, no generator
1 Class A parks across from me, the aisle width away and runs his generator starting after I fall asleep. It was so hot I was naked (not a pretty sight) while sleeping.
WHY? There was plenty of room in a corner of the lot he could have parked and ran his generator all he wanted!

:all Ican say is get a paid camp spot where they have a quiet time then you will not have to listen to others.

Makes sense to me...I spend a lot of nights on Walmart lots when traveling overnight to reach a destination...I run the gen just to cool things down, then turn it off...never all night...

So, just because you don’t have a generator, the rest of us shouldn’t run ours to have The AC on? Put your clothes back on and move to another area of the parking lot since that is what it appears you want them to do.

One of the first times we parked overnight at a Walmart, it snowed, and I could hear the snowplow clearing the lot while we slept. I was a little worried that we'd be blocked in (think of those huge piles of snow in big parking lots). In the morning, we woke up to see ... they were only half done, but they had plowed us a pathway out!
As to the OP's point, and others, we run our generator when needed, and don't mind the noisy truckers that come and go. Our Walmart overnight parking is worth every penny we pay for it.
We have taken advantage of Walmart's overnight hospitality quite a few times, but repaid them handsomely with our purchases. It's a symbiotic relationship.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for your lack of understanding or consideration for others.
First, not everyone in the world lives in Ms. - some just travel through it.
Second, the dissuasion is not about life in Ms. it is about parking near others and running your generator when there are fine areas further away from others.
Again, I'm sorry.
