Well, my rig has a big gap between the first "soft" hit and the first "hard" hit. I'm 13'8" at the top of my satellite dish, but about a foot taller at the top of my radio antenna. I'm not too concerned with how tall my radio antenna is, it's flexible.

I doubt that I would be interested in closing up, going over to the "measuring station" to check the height and then going back to set up again.

If it were free on the way in I would drive through and compare to my numbers.

I used a 2x4, tacked a cloth tape measure to the bottom, laid the 2x4 on the highest point, used a level to ensure the 2x4 was level and Janet read the height from the level 2x4 to the ground.

Yeah, but could possibly be my last heartbeat.

My 5er has a curved roof, front to back and also side to side. I used a laser level on the highest point (AC). I pointed the laser to my carport wall and measured the height. Camper has to be level for accuracy. The level was cheap and very useful for other tasks.
