I have reached a point in my life where peperoni is a bad thing for my digestive system so for me it's ham, sausage & mushrooms

Dr Seuss had "the Battle of Butter". Did I miss the Tempest Over Toppings?

Don't trust those butter-side uppers!

I'll be happy to watch pepperoni pizza commercials non-stop if I never have to see the 'My Pillow Guy' again. He even has his picture on the shoe boxes.

I personally don't care for it all that much. I mean, it's ok but I would rather have hamburger or sausage as a base meat topping.
I just can't help but notice that every pizza commercial on TV always shows a pepperoni topped pizza. My wife and kids think I'm crazy but it really bugs me for some reason.
Not exactly an answer to your question, however, when we order we have been known to specify ground beef or sausage as the base meat.

Maybe I’m just slow to notice, but Papa John now is rolling pepperoni in the crust edges. No more chunking the edges for me.

Anyone who doesn't think that pepperoni is the consumate pizza topping is of a heathenly nature.

Domino's and Pizza Hut have been doing that for years.

I started this thread after watching my wife making pizza at home. She usually makes 3 or 4 at a time and at least 2 of them will include pepperoni.
Ironically enough, she prefers feta and spinach pizza but always makes a few with pepperoni because "that's what goes on pizza".
She really has it down to an art. I swear it's better than any pizza we can buy in town.
My favorite combo is Italian sausage, black olives, mushrooms and jalapenos... but I eat the pepperoni pizza too.

AND, they forget the corn meal on the bottom too!
