Women sues AA for seatback snafu
I'm sure most of you have heard this by now.
As a retired professional pilot for AA I commuted from home to my base so I flew as a passenger in the cabin a lot. I did not recline my seat unless I knew the seat behind me was empty. I know what it's like to have the seat in front of you fully reclined and I guess I just didn't feel it nice to do so.
Now this women reclines her seat because she has every right to and her backseat neighbor asks her not to. She declines so he resorts to what she calls assault when he punches the back of her seat. Bad move.
Now she want's to sue AA and get the name of the person who assaulted her and wants to have AA fire the flight attendant who wouldn't feel pity for her.
It's a good think we have courts and lawyers because when people act like children they can act out their differences in court.
Let's just fix this by preventing seats from reclining.

Then on the other hand why should the rest of us suffer because these two can't behave themselves.

This sort of situation is the seemingly inevitable result of human stupidity. By that I mean travelers flocked to low cost carriers and now seat spacing is so compromised that flying is like a cattle truck. Personally, I’d pay more for a ticket for a seat with more space. But the majority have voted with their wallets and the carriers heard them. So now the news is full of reports about cranky airline passengers.
To relate this to the topic of RV’s, I see the same behavior. Offered a choice, most consumers will make it based on cost. And then proceed to complain about a lack of quality and customer service.
Aren’t people interesting?

The sad part is she might win her case in court. Remember the old women who sued Dunkin Donuts because she was stupid enough to put a cup of hot coffee between her legs while driving. She won. Myself I would have had her comitted to a nut house for doing it.

That was McDonalds and is one of many reasons we have a multitude of printed warnings about what she be obvious dangers in out word. "Hot coffee is hot and may burn you."

I've seen the reports and of course to increase the drama none of them mentioned any previous interaction between the two immature passengers. The guy was sitting in the last row and his seat can not recline so I could see him asking the lady politely to not recline her seat all the way, but he did pick that seat (I assume). And if the lady was a lady she should have complied because why does she NEED to recline her seat? Bottom line is both of these people need a timeout to grow up, especially the idiot banging on the seat.

Might want to read up on the actual lawsuit (link provided below for your convenience), and by the way, it was McDonalds, not Dunkin Donuts . . .

This is why I drive my RV instead of fly if possible. (One of the reasons)

Myself as well.
I don't know how people that travel frequently by air for work do it?
I'm 6'4" and 230lbs. I'm cramped even without the seat in front of me reclined.
Flying to Ireland in April. I had to pay $150 a seat extra (2 seats) each way for an upgraded seat with no one in front of me.

Or by using seats where the seat bottom moves forward as you recline so the top of the backrest doesn't move back at all. Then it's up to the passenger whether to trade leg room for reclining with zero impact either way on the person behind. Could make for more seat back banging for the passenger in front, though, and it's not just children who are clueless about that, unfortunately.
Oh, and I hate to fly, and being crammed into a tiny seat so my hips scrape the arm rests and my knees scrape the seat in front is just one reason, and I'm not even wide or particularly tall. And I do pay for biz class when flying with DW.

I'm new here but....
She also received a passenger disturbance warning from the stewardess for complaining about the guy hitting the seat. That brings the stewardess/airline into the problem.
I hate flying myself.

So, will you recline your seat?
If I pay for a reclining seat, I will recline my seat if I feel like it, end of discussion. If you don't want a seat reclined in front of you, pay for that by seating yourself in the exit row, or a row with the room you feel you deserve. If you batter me, I will sue and I will win -- alot. And it will cost you alot to lose alot.
The pathetic overgrown boy in the video is obviously a punk, He never would have done that to a real man, he had to pick on a woman.
