Oh course there's a worker shortage. With all the free money, more than most make at their job, why bother working? My daughter is a case in point. She's not going back until the free ride stops.

Business owners all America over have been understaffed and unable to hire new employees. People who are paid more to stay home don't look for work. Then the government splashes more money all over the place to "alleviate unemployment". Sheesh!

The note says "no one wants to work anymore." I think this is a basic misunderstanding of the free-market system.

No one wants to work for the wage level that that business wants to pay. Obviously, people are doing better elsewhere - even if "elsewhere" might be simply on the dole.

No mistake, people do not want to work period. Giving money to all these people will not help the situation.
Going south quickly.

Every restaurant we go to has a help wanted sign on the door. We didn't see the mail man for three days, when I called they said they are short staffed and can't find help. The local paper is full of good jobs so people could work if they wanted to.

Just got back from dinner. Went to a place in Flagler Beach that we have been to many times, and they were closed due to staff shortage. Went to a little boutique next door and the lady said that many places in this beach town have staff shortages due to stimulus checks and increase unemployment.

This has nothing to do with RV's, that is why it is in the "General Discussion" section.

I'm really curious what the world will be like after this is all over - unemployment subsidies, stimulus checks, everyone has the covid vaccine.

The only places I go to these days are - Walmart, Gas Stations, RV Parks, and maybe a fast food place. Anything else, I need I get from Amazon.

I have no interest in going to:
Malls
Restaurants
Movie
Most any other type of store

What makes you think the worker shortage does not affect RV businesses and therefore RVers? I have been told of hundreds of mostly-finished new RVs sitting outside an RV factory undelivered because they cannot get the appliances and the furniture to complete them.

The lack of parts and appliances is due to tariffs and Covid 19. Same issue with home appliances. It's been a problem for over a year. Has little, if anything to do with a worker shortage.
And the OP mentioned nothing about RV's.
