a little help

I met my wife as part of a couple while camping. We (the couple and myself) were weekend campers at the same campgrounds for some time and kind of hung out together. They stopped coming and at the end of the camping season I called them and talked to him for awhile. I finally asked how his wife was doing and he told me they weren't together anymore. I expressed my condolences and he told me that she might like to hear from me and gave me her phone number. She had moved to another state. I called her and one thing led to another and here we are ...married 21 years now.

We met in a bar 42 years ago. I pestered her enough that she finally said yes to a date and the rest as they say is history. It has been a great ride.
I was running a little behind on our wedding day and when I stopped by the florist to pick up everyone's flowers I put them on the roof so I could unlock the car door. Well I took off forgetting they were still on the roof. I saw them slide down the back window and hit the street. I collected them up and went back to the florist with a really scared look on my face. They were able to repair the damage and send me back on my way in a short time for no charge. I was late getting to the wedding but everyone had a good laugh when they heard why and the ceremony went off without a hitch after that.

Klan Rally in April 1866.

March 13 – The United States Congress overwhelmingly passes the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the first federal legislation to protect the rights of African-Americans; U.S. President Andrew Johnson vetoed the bill on March 27, and Congress overrides the veto on April 9.

Met at a Yacht Club on Lake Erie. She came home from college for summer break to sail on her parents boat. I was a power boater. She wanted to go fast, I wanted to learn to sail.

Been clear sailing for almost 38 years.

We met 37 years ago in industrial league softball. Married 35 years ago. She played outfield and I was coach. She had the best on-base-percentage on the team, and in my humble-but-most-accurate opinion, was the best looking gal on the team! A great athlete and she turned into a great girlfriend, wife, mother, grandmother, etc, etc!

Regards.

Chuck

We met at the officers club on Fort Leonard, Missouri in 1982. I asked her to dance and the rest is history. Loving every minute of it!

I was a college sophomore in 1970. Eating dinner in the dining hall and 2 freshman girls came around getting their t-shirts signed for a sorority stunt. Got one girl's name and dorm. Needed a date for a dance that weekend so called the first girl. She said she was already booked so I asked for the other girl. That started it. Dated rest of college, then worked long distance separated. Finally married in 1975. Two great kids and two great granddaughters (ordered bunk beds in the new RV for them).
We've been sort of tied to home since our son is special needs but grateful our daughter and family moved 3 doors away. He will stay with our daughter's family and we're going to start a 2 month trip in the RV in February.
