I understand the context of the idiom *, but without it being attached to a quote, the usefulness of your observation is completely lost on me.
* "that dog don't hunt" = I don't believe that will work, I don't believe your last statement, that's probably not going to yield the expected outcome.

“Everything paid for” or “doing the the best the they can” doesn’t justify placing others at risk.

My dog won't hunt either. All he does is lay in the floor, or ride in the truck. I like him though. I don't see anything wrong with a dog that won't hunt. MOMCAT

In that case, to ensure no ambiguity, it would be best to quote exactly the post you were responding to.
Now we know.

We have an older Class C, it's in really good shape and has some minor problems but it's paid for.
Every time I start to think it's time for a new one we go camping at a state park and watch all the people around us.
We always see some falling apart rigs or cobbled together tents and canopies barely standing but you know what?
Those people are having the time of their life. It's not about what their sleeping in, it's about the fun they're having and the memories they're making with their kids.
Who cares what the their RV or campsites look like, to them, their weekend get away is probablly better than spending thousands of dollars for a trip to Disney.
I know it is for us.

I'm afraid some of the people aren't there for a weekend trip. They are living there and trying to make the best of it IMO.

It is ok. I’ve been poor before. I would love to go out on the road and not work.
But no one can tell me the picture of the rig I posted is not dangerous. It was taken in Cottonwood AZ and my friend saw it Payson. Big mountains during fire season.
Once again I’ve been poor. Obtaining a used WDH eventually is not hard. I gave one away. It doesn’t take a lot of money to clean up the wiring. Putting a large ATV in the bed obviously dangerously overloads the vehicle.
Being poor doesn’t excuse laziness or stupidity. I’ve seen the damage caused by forest fires. I ran to help put out a fire in a rig with haphazard wiring. I’ve seen BLM land closed because “people who were just getting by” ruined it for people who were truly trying to get by. And yes I’ve seen the results of run away vehicles.

That's all well and good but unless you actually talked to the people you have absolutely no idea what the circumstances are or were.
You are free to speculate though.

How is it that you can determine "facts" from nothing more than looking at a photo?
To be sure this and other rigs are not pretty at all, but you seem to be making a lot of assumptions and considering them to be facts.
