12v TV Receptacles Used For Other 12v Items?

My 89' Chieftain has two 12v power plugs that expressly say "For Use With 12v TV Only". I plugged a cigarette lighter adapter in to one and it is powered and I was able to charge my phone as an experiment. My question is: Is this safe to do? It's convenient having this plug in the bedroom, and I would imagine that a 12v TV had a significant amp draw, probably higher than anything I would plug in to it now.

A 13" Color 12VDC TV draws roughly 6.5A

You are not going to come close charging your phones

Those DC Power Outlets are probably on a 10A Fused circuit

They state that because of liability and do not want you plugging in a cigarette lighter. I honestly don’t think you have an issue using it as a charge port. Back in 1989 there weren’t many cell phones and there weren’t many accessories that could plug into a cigarette lighter to use as a charge port.

I'm guessing they sized it just for the TV and some other higher draw devices may either blow a fuse or the wire's too thin to carry the load and the voltage will dip. My RV has one of those sockets up by the ceiling where the CRT TV used to be and it couldn't be in a more perfect location to run a small fan I mounted there.
