Question 1985 southwind G30

Just bought a 1985 G30. 30'10" southwind 55,000 miles but motor has a rattel. I am looking for a detailed wire diogram of the batt hookups. their are like 100 wires hanging down. It looks like their should be three batts under the hood. Their are three batt hold downs so idk. Any way this has had some realy hard use i think as the trany was replaced im told and now the engine rattles as a result of the trany not going to the next gear so the engine over revved?
It has hyd jacks to,and a 6.5kv oan gen set. Ive looked over the posts and frankly im scared as hell as to what i need to check before i hool up all those wires. I cant think of why all those connect to the batts? why not a bus bar or some thing simple neg-pos,most of the wires are all diffrent colors to so thats no help. I would hate to guess and hool them up wrong burning out a number of things like the gen set control pannel or relays ect.

any one have photos? any help would be great
thanks

Wow!

This may be the first time in history that a new member's very first post got exactly what he needs from the very first responder!

I kid you N-O-T.

Excellent catch, Dave!

Wink

I thank you, Thank YOU, Thank YOU!!
Ive had some luck starting on this project. First let me say that the post's from Whem2fish have been of great help. I now have a start on the info needed and with help from all of you ill be able to get this back on the road in great shape.

Ive got the genset started it runs, but after a min their where sparks and a small fire in the inside of the front part of the generator close to the engine :(. I tried to pull the tray out but after an hour of trying im thinking of haveing to use a come-along to pull it out. The hold-down bolts are out and exhaust bracket was removed, i got it out about 4-5 inchs but thats it. Well i think il have to get it out and pull the generator off the motor and see what needs to be done. Hooked up the water lol bad idea, water tank drains to the outside missing cap-plug,waterheater tank leaks and the toilet feeder hose in back was not hooked hp so more water. Well the pump seems to work Talked to the local machine shop about the motor and took the valve covers off to check the springs-rods-rockers they all seem to be good. So now im thinking its got to be rattleing from deeper in? Im not sure how the motor comes out. But im guessing ill have to take the whole front end apart to get at it. Ahh i can see all of the tax return going, going gone lol. The tires seem to be good and theirs a brand new one as spare. Ill have to check the age of them and again scary thought more money.Well ill try to get some photos up before the snow flys here in MN. At least ill have time to plan over winter and have an idea what needs to get done first.

I Cant tell you how much it means to me and my girl to have friends like all of you willing to give advice and help when needed most.
Again thank's to all of you

A little help with the links:
P Chassis Alignment pdf: http://users.sisna.com/cebula/P-Chas...entProcess.pdf

The 83 Fleetwood Blog Spot: 1983 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Owners Manuals

And another goody, P chassis MH Service Manual: P30 Chevrolet Motorhome Chassis Manual

The last one is not the actual Chassis manual. GM Chassis manuals are 2 or 3 volumn set (depends on year) under the Light Truck designation (G,K,P 10-30 series) Covers pickups, stepvan (breadtruck), and motorhome chassis. DIfferent book set for each year.
