1988 Elite 36' Motorhome

I recently purchased a 1988 Elite 36' class A motorhome. coach was produced by ELITE coach Corp in Sun Valley CA , Does anyone on the site have one? A Google search brought up very limited information and a search here produced nothing. I do have owners manuals on most of the coach and the original Gillig chassie manual. Mine is with a DD 8.2 L engine

Please respond if you have an Elite Motorhome so I know I don't own the last one.

Thanks

Question Looking for operating manuals

From Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia.

I recently purchased a 1988 Elite RV, 36’, 300 HP Caterpillar engine, Allison Automatic Gearbox, Gilling Chassis with 73,000 miles on the clock.

I am the 3rd owner after the second owner purchased and imported it, sight unseen, from the US as it was built right hand drive, suitable already for Australian conditions.

I am looking for copies of the operating manuals that service the vehicle as the previous owner said that none came with the RV.

Please can anyone assist me? Thanks.

Hi, From Maryborough Qld, we are looking at a 33' 1990 Elite RV, 460 v8, it's on a Oshkosh chassis only problem I cannot find a manufacturers plate or VIN plate, any ideas as to where it may be? The only access door to the RV is on the right side, center of the RV, there are no doors to access the driver or passenger seats..
Cheers John

What a great coach! If you can't find a sticker somewhere inside the coach, from the outside, look through the driver’s side windshield or search around the driver’s area of the cockpit. The VIN has to be visible from the outside of the coach and it should be on the driver's side, although occasionally, it'll be on the passenger side or somewhere in the middle.

OK, that was my next place to look when I go back to the RV, tho there should be a manufacturers plate with all the weight details as well, I'm going to get under it and have a good look, really, the plate should not be hidden, cheers

On my 1988 Elite there is a plate over the driver's head on the sidewall which has the chassis information. Mine is built on a Gillig Chassis. In the U.S. the chassis number must also appear on the Frame mine is on the driver's side near the front.

Good Luck with yours I'm taking mine into the shop for an air leak tomorrow. Could be an airbag on the right front.

A bit late but I wonder if you found any documentation. I too have a 1988 Elite 36' and I do have some manuals like the Chassis manual and some of the appliances. Let me know if I can help. Ken

Hi. I live in California and bought a 1989 about 3 years ago. It has all the manuals but it will be too much to scan it all. What are you looking for and I can see if that is in there.
