1992 Fleetwood Coronado
Hello! I’m stuck in a Home Depot parking lot. My brakes seized up and the Mechcanic says he doesn’t want to take it apart if we can’t get a new spindle for the drivers side brakes. Can anyone help me find this part? Chevy p-30 27 ft class A. Any suggestions would sure help! Im in Flagstaff AZ with fires all around me. They closed the entire forest and when I came into town my brakes seized at a light and I drove it a short way to the parking lot.

If the brakes locked up it needs a wheel cylinder (drum brakes) or caliper (disc brakes) not a spindle.

Oh ok, the mechanic here said it did. I had the brake pads and rotor replaced one year ago. They didn’t deliver the new wheel bearings so they put the old ones back on. Plus they put a hole in the hub dust cover. After leaving the shop I heard a clanking noise on the left front side and took it back. They said it was a transmission problem coming from the back. Which that was not the problem. But they didn’t want to work with me and were too busy to help. So here I am a year later.

He won’t take it apart unless he has all the parts here.

I’m sorry I was so tired yesterday I couldn’t respond right away. Today I’m rested and ready to listen.

We ordered the caliper and brake pads and a new rotor and wheel bearings but sent them back because we couldn’t find a spindle. He didn’t want to take it apart without a spindle. The guy who replaced the pads and rotor last year didn’t put in new wheel bearings. And he doesn’t seem to want to help me now.

I am still wondering how he determined that the hub is bad, Did the "mechanic" take the wheel off?
