Question 1992 Fleetwood electronic igniter needed

I am looking for an electronic igniter for my 1992 Fleetwood Flair water heater. I have been told that this item has been discontinued. Don't want to take cold showers!!!! Any ideas where I could locate one of these igniters would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you can get a factory number for the ignitor, you might find one on Amazon, or a cross-over number/item that works.

Is it a Fleetwood water heater or made by Suburban or Atwood? Check and report. I'd bet Suburban or Atwood will have parts or a work around.

Exactly. Usually these companies will supersede (or replace) an old part with a compatible new one. Typically the old part number will be discontinued, but can still be linked to the new replacement.

If you had your model number and manufacturer we could be of much more help

I found the name Atwood,
model # G6A-6P
Spec.# 365111
Serial# 96365007121
6.2 gal.
8800 btu
7.46 recovery

None of this means much to me.... any hope?

According to the number you provided, the last letter, 'P' denotes yours is a pilot light model and doesn't have an electric ignition. (If it did, the last symbol would be an 'E')

This place has parts for a G6A-6P.

I looked on a replacement parts site which had Atwood, but they want to sell the whole igniter box, not just the wire part (don't know what it's called) that I need that runs from the box to where it lights the pilot light.
New boxes run around $350 and I'm sure just the "wire" part I need would only be a fraction of that.

There is a switch to push to the side which is supposed to light the pilot light without me having to use a match, etc.

I think you're talking about the second part listed on the 2nd link I shared above, the 'Safety Pilot Assembly' It includes a thermocouple and pilot burner tube. If you just need the thermocouple, they can be picked up at any home improvement center or Ace Hardware.

I already bought the thermocouple, but my brother is installing it and says the other "wire" needs to be put on first.
