Well... regarding all the cool improvements I listed in post below:

As an addition ->>>

We found the rear tires... although looking OK... are DOT 2013. And, that one had suddenly developed a dangerous [soft ball sized] bulge in sidewall. So, 4 new tires are now included in the improvements. Also found... the two rear drum-brake hydraulic cylinders are leaking with springs broken; new are now installed. All other brake items [including disk fronts] are in very good shape.

Did find the front tires are the 2000 model and in like new condition. Placed the two 2000 front tires next to and on the inside of brand new outside rear tires; with brand new steer tires on front.

Will pickup "Honey" tomorrow. She goes in for new NorCold 12V/propane fridge/freezer next Wednesday 5/14. After those projects there are just a few in posted list below to complete. Then... Party ON - Baby!!!

I get anal about improvements on any already good condition rig we purchase [not necessarily required and not all completed yet. Incompletes are bold]... so... here they are:

- Calk and coat all suspect seams/areas. Done
- Install all new exterior white edging plastic. Done
- Simonize exterior. Done
- Touch up and thoroughly clean all interior portions [not much work needed.] 75% completed!
- Place TV in position. Soon!
- Build locations increased storage, hat hanging and artistic looks In process!
- Replace all shocks. Done!
- Rebuild even slightly worn front end parts. Done!
- Install 2,500 lb. rear leaf spring assist-leafs. Fairly soon!
- New rear end gear fluid / Trany fluid and filter refresh / Oil and filter change / Grease-Pack front wheel bearings / Flush and replace antifreeze cooling liquid. Next Tues. 5/13
- Front door access 48" L x 14" W x 20" H; aluminum diamond plate tool box atop rear bumper, [to store lots of items... mostly light weight things and with door down provide work-shelf]. Soon after 2,500 lb. leaf spring assists are installed.
- New fridge/freezer. In a week or two! The original [33 year old Domatic] fridge failed at end of our second 4 day jaunt
- A few new color strips on exterior. Eventually!
- Replace one radio speaker. Soon

Then - Party Baby!!!... For years of no fuss no muss with a classic/vintage more that three decades old 460 powered, 26', E350, Fleetwood Jamboree, party layout - Cherry RV... with little to no high tech computer chips aboard!!!

Happy RV Daze!!! - Art and Linda

Wait! Are you planning to run tires from 2000 on the inside rears? Maybe a typo. No matter how new they look they need to be replaced. Also, for duals they get matched for each side pair, not across the axle. Replacing those tires are of a very high priority. Hold off on the fridge if needed.

Woops - Typo on my post...

The two previously front tires are not 2000, but rather 2020... I figure and the commercial truck tire shop I deal with figure that due to their like new look and only 5 year age they have at least a couple years of life left.

But I must admit...even so. It would be wise to have all 6 tires brand new. I'll call the shop this morn and see if they've already completed the tire change. If so, then good enough to have the 2020 like new tires as the interior tires on rear with brand new tires on the outside. If not completed with tire installations yet I'll probably tell them to ditch the 2020 tires and go with all six tires new. New ones are Toyo 10 ply.

Thanks for keeping My head on straight!!! - Art

The fronts from 2020 were just like new and exact same o.d. as the new tires.

Placed them as inside rears. New Toyo 10 ply on outside rears and as fronts

She drives like a dream! 5/21 "Honey" gets dropped off for new NorCold refrige/freezer. Supposed to pick her up 5/28 +/-.

Then her good condition rear leaf springs each get 2500 lb. assist leaf springs... So I can mount a 48" wide, front opening, diamond plate tool box atop rear bumper; for extra storage space and a work shelf when drop down front is open. Tool box will increase Honey's length from 26' to about 27' - no problem!!

So, am I to understand that you replaced the two outside tires in the rear but not the inside tires? That is never a good thing to do even if the tires were all new! The dually tires should always match for several reasons-

1) The tread and tread wear will be different
2) Even with identical tire sizes, the tires will not be identical
3) With mismatched tires, you could experience accelerated tire wear due to the traction differences between the two tires. In other words, they will wear each other out.
4) The older tires could damage the new tires if they blow out due to age

You've done so may good things getting her ready to go, don't let the tires ruin your first trip!

Safe Travels!

I understand what you say re tires and thank you for suggestion.

Tire shop I use is extremely experienced with commercial vehicles. Matter of fact; commercial is 95% of their business. Their pros checked the tire match diligently. I looked into it too. On the rear now, although the inner tires which were my fronts and have a bit of age, they have under 1000 miles on them and their diameter as well as breadth matches the new outers perfectly. I'll keep my eyes on both the inner and outer rears... new fronts too!
