1994 F53 oil cooler woes

I’ve seen posts on this topic but appears I can’t comment on old stuff. So here is my issue: can anyone tell me how these coolers seal to the filter housing? I changed my water pump and screwed up by not preinstalling the hoses. As such I took the oil cooler loose to get that stupid short hose in. Now oil is leaking all over. Doesn’t appear to be a seal in there. I’m at a loss. It looks like I have to jack up the engine to eliminate the stupid thing entirely which is an option since you can’t get that stupid short hose any longer. At least in correct diameter it seems. I’m really not pleased.

It may use the same seal as an oil filter.

It is an o-ring between the block and cooler block. Rockauto.com is your friend.
Yours must have fallen out of place when you unbolted it.
Yeah, that short hose is a b!tch. Try folding it somewhat and use silicone spray to lube everything up.

Thanks. Yeah I got a better look once I had the cooler removed. One of the two orings was missing. Home Depot plumbing section o ring #67 looked to be same size. Fit in recess fine. Haven’t started yet but plan to tonight. Hoping it holds ok now.
