1994 Holiday Rambler Temperature gauge quit working

On our last trip the temp gauge quit working. After getting home I tested the gauge and wiring at e sending unit and found that part of the system was fine. It was the sending unit which was open internally. I don’t need to tell anyone with a diesel pusher how difficult it is to get to any part of the upper portion of the engine, but after standing on my head for some time I was able to remove the offending part. It is located at the radiator end of the engine on the drivers side. The trouble came when I tried to find a replacement. My rv has a 1994 12v Cummins engine and an Oshkosh suspension, needless to say I had an awful time finding the part. After a couple of hours and a trip into two different auto parts stores without success I was on the verge of giving up. I took another stab at the computer and actually found the correct sending unit.

Yes, it looked like they had two different types. A single wire and a two wire sender. Both were very expensive compared to other senders. The truck sending unit is located at the rear, near the fire wall, on the drivers side of the engine. I don’t have the part number.
