Hello all.
Can anyone tell me if any other awning torsion springs spring will work in my A&E 5000 awning? The clamps that hold the springs on the ends don't hold, they keep unwinding, they look in good shape otherwise. I've tried tightining them several times. Don't see any replacements for A&E 5000 on the net.
Thanks
David

I should have said before but the clamps they used are just like the ones for pex tubing. The springs thread into cups on the ends and they clamped them thight but the unwind them selfs. not tight enough i guess.
I've thought about useing some other type of clamp, i'm sure hose clamps aren't going to be tight enough.
Thanks for the responce.

I just bought the Torsion Kit replacement for $36.00 and change for our A&E 8000 from "Factory RV Surplus" 1611 Bristol Street in Elkhart, IN. (Google "rv surplus, there are several such places in Elkhart).
I also could not find this particular model (circa 1989) on the 'net. I called several "rv surplus" stores and was told my Model 8000 used the same "old" style of several series. They had an "old" style and I stopped in a the lady had it waiting.
I believe they also ship parts.
Hope it helps
