AC Retro fit

Howdy,

I have a 1978 El Ranch Rae truck camper that with which i'm adding an AC. All of the model and make information on the unit is worn off but I'm sure its fairly old because it uses R-22. It runs good, but I am running into problems mounting it. As far as I can tell, there should be four bolt clips attached to the housing to fasten the unit to the plenum using long bolts. The clips, however, are not there, either removed or broke off at some point. Does any body know what these clips are or look like or where I can look to find replacements? I know I cant provide much information on the AC but they can't be all that different. At this point if I cant find the clips, my plan to to weld some nuts to the housing, but I would prefer not to go that route. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Check with an auto body shop. It sounds like you're describing the pal nuts used to hold fenders & sheet metal in place

Yes, exactly Rick. I will look into the body shop idea.
