Any ideas what these tracks are for

Any ideas what these tracks are for?

They run the length of the bedroom on either side of the bed. I would like to install plank flooring and may possibly remove these tracks/rails. No slides in unit.

Thanks a bunch :-)

Welcome to iRV2.

The rails might just be manufacturer & year specific , could you add that info to your post .

Kind of odd. There is nothing structural about them, as there is a splice towards the drawers. They may contain wiring. I'd try unscrewing them and carefully lift up at the split. Don't try to cut into them just in case it really is a wire trough.

Sorry. Newbie here. It’s in a 1999 Fleetwood Flair 30H F53 chassis. No slides. On both sides equal distance from exterior wall. Possibly water/electrical beneath in the floor?

BrentBB-

First off, welcome to iRV2!

Second, you should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.

Re: The "tracks." I assume you removed carpet to reveal those.

My guess (and a wild guess it is) is that those are stiffeners, designed to hold the floor down to the frame structure beneath. If that is the case, you would not want to remove them. Instead, block between the stiffeners until you get a smooth surface either side for the rigid flooring. Use a transition strip at the entrance to the bedroom.

Mark ; good catch , I'd looked at the posted photo without realizing , it had posted 90 degrees and hadn't read Brent's post closely enough for it to sink in that the rails were on the floor.

Yah. That’s the way the file was uploaded - I had the correct orientation in my photos? Oh well.
