At What Year Does "Vintage" Begin?

Curious, at what year does "Vintage" begin? We have a 2004 Fleetwood Bounder and just wondering if she is old enough to be considered vintage? I'm looking for the appropriate forums. Of course the Fleetwood Owners Forum is one. Just looking at all options. We are fairly new RV owners and have questions that would be nice to be answered by RV'ers in the know!

In most circles that Iím familiar with, Vintage generally starts with vehicles that are 20-25 years old. Classic moniker is from 25-50 years old. Antique is generally older than 50 years.

Your 2004 is of 2004 vintage. A 2022 is of 2022 vintage.

The term is used to describe the year of production of wine. But my beer has a born on date.

I have noticed at car and motorcycle shows and at various state's DMV's that "vintage" tends to be 25 years or older. I've never seen anyone but the DMV people be very particular about the exact number though.

Here in the forums ; when asking questions ; stick to the owners forum unless your question is chassis related .
Vintage RV forum ; usually for RVs of age with manufacturers that have gone the way of the Greater Awk .

BTW: I do consider my Newmar vintage , and have since it past 20 YoA .

You're ignoring how many suppliers have also gone out of business over the years. If ALL this info stays in one forum there's a chance someone will see a question and answer, or find an answer when looking for something else.

Scattering all these nuggets around the forum can make them difficult to find even with a search or get an answer when readers see 1999 in the title and don't even open it.

Instead of a rolling date it would be better to establish an arbitrary cut off date for vintage, pre 2000. The forum came into existence sometime around then so a lot of the questions from then on should already be in the owners forums anyway.

The term borrowed from the wine industry becomes very ambiguous when used to describe the age of other objects.
Googling Vintage RVs returns listings from 1965 on up to 2016. So it's only meaning in this context can be that of the year of production. Leave off the year and it is an incomplete adjectival term.

I would think 20-25 years would be logical to consider a vehicle vintage. Personally anything with fuel injection and an ECM is modern for me.

In my mind vintage MH or trailer is pre to mid 90s. No need to only ask questions on vintage forum. But when it comes to pre 90s A & C-class might be best place to get specific help for and from owners I found here .that have been deep into repairs and part searches on these units.
