Bought a 1990 Royal Sterling today

86 yr old original owner called me.asked if would come get it.sold the farm..kids don't want old junk..
so brought a battery, gas,.air compressor. he had it in a big shop till he moved into the lodge 6 yrs ago. his son moved it outside.
has 63,000 kms on it. all original tires. all cracked bad.
so it started right up. Ford Chassis 351-auto crank windows dash air..no RV air. less crap on the roof to leak. all 3 vents cracked but no leaks yet.
drove it home 25 miles. no issues.

we decided touring thru small towns garage saling with the Itasca diesal pusher is no good. tried to sell it all yr..no bites. so keep em both.Big one for short drives to lakes in area. small one for long trips.

Looks in good shape.

Of course you are replacing the tires. Glad they got you home. Can always add A/C to it if you want but will definitely make a nice rig for the trips you have planned.

New tires

yes..changed the frt last night with 2 new Michelin 2011 spares I got at garage sales. never been used. no cracks...waaaay better than the original 1990s that are on it. will buy new Chinese rears like I put on the Itasca $369 for all 4 215-85-16s .put em on myself .

another issue is the 3 way Norcold N51X Fridge. it works great on 110 and 12 volt. but only stays lit for 30 seconds on propane.. I cleaned it all out.blew out the lines. propane is at least 8 yrs old..but stove lits good with nice blue flame.pilot light on fridge is blue.but only for 30 seconds.. get a F code light on fridge..means lack of propane?
any ideas.

it just fits in my 26 ft garage. have foot on frt and back to walk around it.

1990 Royal Sterling wash job

I bought 2 spray jugs of Spray Nine Boat bottom cleaner yesterday. drove to local big truck wash and a friend of mine and I sprayed the 2 jugs on the whole motorhome. then preceeded to pressure washe the whole thing. then my friend scrubbed it with the big brush and I washed it again. then rinsed it off. looks 500 % better now.

Most systems have a safety device built in to shut the gas off if the flame goes out. Maybe it thanks that and is telling you no propane as a default

Great little RV you got.

Try a new regulator and fresh propane hoses. They have aged out anyway.
