You've made a lot of progress in just a few days. Thanks for posting the pics. Nice that you don't have to replace the awning.

Sorry to see the branch crash. Did it do alot of damage?

Yes tires are heavy! Not of course having lifted one myself. Batteries also heavy. My husband hauls them in and out for the summer and winter. I don't know what other people do. Maybe they leave them in all winter.

Mostly mess and maybe a couple shingles damaged. Should have taken that tree down earlier.

Been too cold outside to work on it. Sold my 1971 VW Sportsmobile Bus and picked up a 86 CJ7 toad. The toad fits in the shop so I can work on fitting some new panels to take care of the rust. Would I be crazy to think I could tow the CJ7 with a trailer on the back of it pulling my 4wheeler?

Hey BirdDog, the rig seems to be coming along great! I'll keep watching to see how it goes.

One quick note, I would change out the fuel filter ASAP. Seems like they always get forgotten and usually it's a quick and inexpensive fix, and that way you can mark it off your list AND it will give you some peace of mind that anything sitting around that old gas tank won't get into your engine.

Oh yeah, also, I would put some fuel additive in such as Seafoam, maybe even a LOT that way it'll help clean things up including the generator (IF the gas comes from the same tank). I use it in my 1997 RexAir and I know the generator runs much better now since I started using it.

Hmm, if you're replacing bulbs, why not replace them with LED's? That way eventually you have all of them switched over and it might help making your batteries last longer when you're boondocking.

Well shoot there's a whole lot of stuff you can do, but it seems you're getting it done as you need to.

Best of luck and keep us in the loop as how it goes. Love seeing these old rigs come back to life and people really using and enjoying them!

Some do it but it's illegal in a lot of states, OR and WA for just a couple.

So thing have kept me away from working on the motor home for a while. Mom got sick then we lost her, but life is getting pretty much back to normal. Found out both AC units work. After a new starter and 2 new fuel pumps the genset now runs, microwave works. Mouse nests in the shroud on the generator catch fire by the way. And I am about to close on 5 acres in northern Michigan. So the maiden voyage Wil be a one way trip. Gotta make it about 315 miles and then get it I set the plenary/porterhouse 30x60 roofed structure. At that point it will pretty much be a cabin.
