so! as a newbie to the rv world, i learned a valuable lesson when purchasing. pull the mattress off the cab over and look at the deck area!!!!
my girl and i have been prepping the rv for our maiden voyage this christmas season and though its come a long way quickly its not without setbacks.
she pulled the mattress out from above the cab only to discover the rotted wood from the notoriously leaking front windows! i knew it was only going to get worse and with the trip coming up, i needed to tackle this asap.
so as you will see from the pictures the damage and the repair. total cost, 1 weekend (approx 20hrs) and about 300.00 in materials.
i replaced the original materials with white frp panel for the exposed underside, 3/4 plywood for the main structure and white smooth hardboard for the inside finish. never done anything like this before, but it has to get done.
more pics to follow!
