I have a problem with my ceiling. Leaked sometime in the past and needs fixed. My problem is that the last 8 inches on the pass side inthe rear curved down. Need to replace the wood paneling and find vinal coated wallpaper. Any sugestions???

You can get bendable plywood - comes in 1/8" thickness and is designed to either bend in the long or short direction. If it needs to be thicker can be layered. Look at the yellow pages for plywood dealers who sell to the cabinet trade.

Utility plywood is another option, a tad thinner than the previously mentioned plywood and is fairly plyable 3/16" thick (aka 5mm).

On Craigslist I have been selling 1/10" thick veneer either in Black Walnut or Birch. People buy it for all sorts of reasons, but I had a guy a few months back buy some because he was turning a school bus into an RV. He wanted it for the curved part of the ceiling. Most veneer sold today is either 1/32" or 1/42" thick. With the 1/10" stuff I think you would have to cut some slits in the back side to get a good curve. But in the end you would have a much firm surface. Just a thought....

Found a cabnet shop today,will go Monday and see what they have that might work. Thanks for the advice. Ed

I no they make 3/8 in bender board for that type of application. What about removing the old stuff and putting up a straight piece. almost like crown. Then caulk the corners and then put the vinyl over that? Thats what I did in mine cause bending that stuff and getting it to stay is a pain.

We just moved our ceilings to frost, from white, I would contact Jack Yenne to see if we have any of that around. I'm not sure of any warranty issues or whatnot about replacing it yourself, but from a material standpoint we might have some around. Never hurts to ask.

Let me know what you find out,'cource shipping might be cost prohibative. Ed
