Compression Latch Lock

Hello,

I purchased a compression latch lock to replace the old one on my generator storage cabinet. The previous lock is 25mm x 98.425mm. The lock I ordered is a 25mm x 86mm. Does anyone know where I can purchase a little bit longer lock?

Thanks,
Chris

Are you able to get a parts diagram for your RV? I've been reasonably successful in cross referencing part numbers online for our 2004 Itasca without much difficulty.

That may be a problem. It is an 89 Holiday Rambler Monitor, though, mayne similar to a Holiday Rambler Aluma-lite.

Is there a way that I can use the new locks on the compartment doors and fabricate something to cover the 1/2” gap in the metal door? Not sure if somebody makes a thin piece of metal that I can use jb weld or some kind of similar adhesive to secure in place. Suggestions?

I may have figured out a solution. For now, I centered the lock inside the hole, which leaves about a 1/8 to 1/4” gap on each side. I mainly wanted to make sure that when locked someone can’t pry the lock out with a screwdriver or something similar. After all, locks are there to keep out the honest. If people really want in bad enough, they will get in regardless of damage done.

I am also open to more suggestions, if anyone has an idea of how to completely remove the hole. It appears they only make one size now.

Thanks,
Chris
