Distributor Advice
Good evening gents, being that I really don't feel like laying on my back under the motorhome this time of year in Illinois, my ceramic coated headers will have to wait the install until March or April unless we get some unusual warm weather for a few days in a row. I purchased an 1 5/8" air cleaner riser from ebay that can be installed once I get a gasket for it. Now, I am considering of buying a distributor but, not sure whether to go for the Accel or MSD or just get a spring and weight kit and work with mine. Any qualified suggestions?

Another vote for the MSD system.

I'm still wondering if the gains would be noticed with the MSD distributor only w/coil (no system) over a recurved stock one, being my mods are minimum

My belief is run the stock distributor in this application.

The MSD for my Corvair truck came with 9 different springs and three advance limiters plus a centrifugal advance lock-out kit. The recommended coil is a 0.3 ohm E core.

Deano,
I had very good results using the stock distributor with the MSD blaster coil and MSD high output ignition modual. Of course a very good set of plug wires, with ceramic boots and a good set of sparkplugs are also needed.

Assuming you trans is 1:1 with a lock-up converter - 60 mph would be 2,226 rpm. Dire diameter is 33.8".
