Elixir Trav'ler 4 burner stove question.

Recently I purchased a 1979 Corsair Bendix 22ft and it has this stove in it but the door on the oven seems to be sagged down. You can pish it up to be correct but once you let the door go it falls back so it doesn't match up with the gasket. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or if they would know how to get the door off so I can check hinges an stuff.

Boy, I have not seen pictures of that antique in a long long time.
The door hinges have springs to hold the door closed. Likely after this much time the springs are simply worn out. Disconnect the gas line, take the stove out and look.

Thank you. It seems to spring shut fine but when closed the door is sunk down almost like it needs adjusted. I will try to take it out and check everything.

stove sag

I have the same problem with my stove. Not quite as bad. My dealer looked at my stove and said nothing can be done to fix the problem.

I'm going to take the stove out and see if it can be fixed. Hoping it's just something simple with the hinges

OK... Something to try before you remove the whole stove.
Open the oven door and you will see the arms for the hinges... "Normally" you will see small "nail sized"holes in the arms.
push a small nail thru the hole and slightly close the door and you should find another hole that the nail will continue thru.. thereby locking the hinge & oven door in an open position.
lift the oven door (with the hinge(s) locked)
The oven door should disconnect from the oven and you should be able to remove the door.
Most likely the hinge/arms have become bent/distorted from putting/setting pots and dishes on the open door.

A few places to try to find parts..

Tried an ACE and Orileys but they said they do not carry anything like that. Went to a camping store they said they would need the model number to see if they can look up a part because they have never had to buy springs before. But i cannot find the model number on the stove all i know is its a Elixir Travler 4 burner Gourmet II.
