Probably a good video but I just get a 11 minute advertisement for an emergency meal kit. Youtube kinda sucks.

Those are cool and still very popular. As I recall they had an Oldsmobile 454 with front wheel drive. No driveshaft to the rear so they sat much lower to the ground They are very restorable and many have been. I'm sure someone will post here who has one.

Earlier this year, we stayed at a campground that had a GMC get together going on. There was around 15-20 of those oldies there. It was cool to see them.

Legend has it, GM made John Hall (formerly of Airstream) run his RevCon prototypes through stringent testing to approve the use of the Olds Toronado drivetrains in the late 60’s. I’ve seen the resulting reinforcements and mods they required of him to implement on the Olds suspension before they approved his use of their products. Then, after RevCon proved the “revolutionary concept”, they used the idea, sweat and tears of the RevCon team to create their own GMC model MH. Ironically without the suspension reinforcements. Actually this is not a legend, but rather, from a RevCon factory vet I connected up with along my journey.

If I remember correctly, one of the big selling points to that rig is that it was guaranteed not to roll over or something like that, those old GMC rigs ate super cool, I wouldn't mind sporting one of those.

When I was shopping for a motorhome I ran across an old g m c. They still go for a pretty penny even in fair condition. For the price of a decent one the guy had put a big modern fuel injected motor with all the bells and whistles , he really knew what he was doing going by the build sheet of the motor. Made a lot of claims about great fuel mileage and be able the really hall the mail. With all the work he had done to it it was worth far more and the other ones in similar condition. If I had the extra coin I would have loved to grab it I'm sure I could have flipped it for an extra 10 G's right now.
Ozzy Osbourne and his son have a show where they went on a road trip. They bought an old g m c like he and Randy Rhoads used to tour in when they first started. It didn't last long before they went to a modern Class C.
