Freedom 10 inverter

I am having trouble with my Freedom 10 inverter. It has not been charging my batteries while plugged into 110 outlet. I could charge the batteries when I started the engine only. One part on the inverter that was working was when I turned on the inverter switch it would invert the battery power into 110 volts and it would work anything electrical like lights and fans. I think that I may have done something to cause to stop working. The batteries were get low because like I said earlier that was one of the problems that I was having. I started the generator up without turning off the switch for the inverter. I am not sure but seems like I read somewhere that if you ran the generator without turning off the inverter it could damage the inverter. Since this happen it will not put out any 110 voltage as before so the electrical items will not work without land power plug in or the generator running. It use to converter 12 volts to 110 volts before I made this mistake..
Any ideas to maybe help repair ?

The inverter may have been charging the batteries when you started the coach , the starter draw may have blown the large fuse in the system . Look for and test the fuse in the 12 volt cable between the coach battery bank and the inverter .
The 12 volt charging from the inverter to the batteries also runs through the fuse as well as the current the inverter uses to produce 120 volt power.
Fuse may look like one of these two .
Info in this pdf may also be of some help .
