Fuel Tank Sender

I Have an 1988 40ft Country Coach LTD Classic, Does some one know if I can replace the fuel tank sender with out removing the fuel tank, does it have a removable plate or cover under the carpet in the front lounge area.

I hope someone with a similar RV will chip in, but an '88 is getting to be a rare one. I'd crawl underneath with flashlight and camera and see what you find. Some have room to get your hand on top and then it's maneuvering the sender and float out through the space provided. If it has a side mounted sender, it should be evident with a look-see.

If the tank is emptied, dropping it shouldn't be too major a job. It will be heavy, so have jacks and props ready, but not an impossible procedure to complete.

Thank you for your reply, the tank sender is in the top of the tank, one other motor home I had had a piece of the flooring that could be removed from the inside of the motor home under the carpet to gain access to the tank sender, this is why I asked whether the Country Coach had an access point the same, the tank is almost hard up against the floor so i'm unable to get my hand in between the floor and the tank so I will just have to drain and lower the tank down, Thank you for your reply.

You'll have to determine if cutting a hole in the floor above would be less labor than dropping the tank. In some RVs the hatch might be the easier route, but if a slide or furniture is in the way, drop the tank.

My daughter lived in Byron Bay, just south of Brisbane for quite a few years so we visited often. Beautiful area!
