GMC Vandura elite mid 80s

I am potentially purchasing a gmc vandura elite class c motorhome from the mid 80s this weekend and I would like to know if anyone knows anything about them. I posted a picture of what it looks like. There’s not much info out there that I could find. They seem to be more popular in Canada and Europe (?) I would like to know if they are built well and tend to last. The asking price is 3000 and I’ll try to negotiate. Any info will be appreciated

Matt

Welcome to iRV2.

From the picture , it looks clean for the age.

I'm thinking though that there should be another name ; Coachman ? Vanguard ? Elite would be the model not the manufacturer and Vandura was just the name GMC applied to the class C chassis it supplied to the manufacturer.

Do a complete check , tire age and pull the mattress from the overhead , to inspect that section for water damage ; that's the big problem in class C's.

My friend has one just like it. They were prone to leaking on the front of the camper, above the cab. Look for water damage in that area.
