Deb's family annual get together is starting to be planned. We are working the dates trying to make these fit well together,,,,,,,, so we only drive North once.

So, the dates 8/11 thru 8/25 are the dates in Maine at whatever park we select correct?

Would we be meeting before that at the Graves? If they have the room, something like meeting at the Graves on the 7th and 8th and boondocking would work for us, caravan starting the 9th headed to Maine, spend the 10th on the road in a overnight park, then arrival on the 11th at our home in Maine........ temporary home. Is something like this what you all are thinking?

Sounds like that would work for me also. Maybe the Twin Oaks campground if weather is too hot.

Hello M&G,

Most CG's I talked to were not willing to discount a group because this is their busiest time and they know they will fill up. The 10% Good Sam discount is as good as it will get. If we could guarantee 20 they might rethink that, might.

Rail, sometimes my minds draws blanks. I kept thinking there were others but could not get them to mind. Sorry.

It would be nice to meet up and I think a CG would be a better idea than all trying to camp in Terry & Eleanor's yard. If it was wet it could be a big problem too. Remember how he buried his own rig?

Popeye, could you go check the Cedar Haven CG since you are so close and tell us what you think. Maybe the Freeport KOA too. Give us your opinion of which one you think would be our best bet.

Yes, the dates are August 11th to August 25th. Lynne

We would be good for several days of boon docking prior to going to Maine if Terry had room for us to park. Parking 10 miles away kind of defeats the purpose to get together with them.

Yup Yup

Let me hear "guidelines" of things that you like and don't like/deal breakers folks.(EX: Some people like being near the bath house and some ,,,,not so much

Next to the dump station ? never !)

I'm not too savvy on big rig's maneuvering requirements .

My biggest ...29'. I could bring a tape and my camera though....and look for branch clearances

Maybe Terry could make a video ???

Actually Lynne and the campground staff probably have that figured out already .
If I had a clue then , I could have gone and checked 'em out on a big holiday to see the real deal.
It's been raining for 2 days , GOOD time to check for soggy spots !

Hello M&G,

Popeye, just do a general drive through. I don't think any of us are worried about being by the bath house but definitely away from the dump station.

I guess, do a look see and what is available there. Is the pond for swimming or yucky and green slimy. Is there a place to order pizza from close by. Are the roads in the CG wide enough or are they tight and rocks all over the place that a rig could bump into while trying to park in their site.

Is it easy to find. Clean, well kept. Quiet or is there a busy road in front. Can you tell us how close this CG is to the ocean???? Is there kayaking close by?

Would you stay there? With your Momma?? That kind of thing. What are the back in sites like? Can a 36 ft rig back in. That type of thing. Just see if it looks decent for a two week stay. Trees, are there trees.

The KOA too if you have the time please. We will be there in less than a year, are you ready for the invasion?

Lynne

Hi all,

Thanks for asking Gordon!

I just posted an update in TOT (Goodmorning).

I have to go back and understand what you all have selected for plans for next August, but we would sure like to join you all if at all possible...

Let us know if there are plans to go back to Yuma for the end of 2019...

Thanks again,
Ted & Kathleen

If you drive through Popeye just look at the size of the rigs that are in there. Fellows like Terry, Stan and Lloyd are very experienced in moving rigs around and can provide advice to Lynne, myself who are competent drivers. It may take a bit of maneuvering but we can get into some pretty tight places.

Another option is to talk to the owner and tell them we have some 43' rigs. I don't mind backing in if they have a place to store the trailer.

I looked at some of the campgrounds in Google Earth and depending upon location we should be good to go.

Janet and I will be going back as well I hope everyone else. We were only going to stop there for 1 week the first time we went through and are now going back for the 10th year.

Have any particular site #s been mentioned yet so I can concentrate on them ?

So far I have seen the pic of the pull through sites at the KOA and NOT very shady , but "great for solar panels or satellite tv" ...and if you have a telescope ..Ya know , taa see the UFO's...

I'm going to be in that area TODAY ! Hope I can get the time to go.........just kidding , yeah , I "Ain't Right" ......
