Ron, I'm sure it is probably there, all my mail goes to Wes's rental house, where Heath lives, Wes's half brother, and he will get the mail to Wes, then he will send it to me! May take a month or so to get it! Amazing how much still comes, junk mail never stops! Had a big bag to go thru when we were at Wes's this year! Funny, the junk mail does not follow me over here!

Any ideas yet about where we might camp in that area. Looks beautiful.

Ron,
Not yet. Wanted people to see what is there first. If this interests people I will look for a CG. There are lot's of them. We can find one that would allow us access to all these areas or get in one of these areas.
There is a CG right in Mackinaw City that is very nice but also a bit pricey, Just want to see if people are interested in going here or if they want to pick another state.

I am ready for Michigan. We have had three great camps so far. Looking forward to another. And Upper Michigan is 6 or 7 hundred miles closer. One of the amenities we have enjoyed at every park so far is campfires. Hope #4 also has that perk. It's great to gather each evening around the fire and visit.

HI M&G,
I agree with the campfire Ron. Always love those. Each area we visit will have different things to see. The UP is not as populated and you can access Mackinaw Island from both lower and upper MI. But, the distances between things is a lot farther. Some beautiful scenery though.
Will see if anyone else chimes in and then I will start looking for CG's around several areas. I don't think any of us mind traveling a bit to get to something that we want to see. I am a bit concerned though that we might get Lloyd on Sleeping Bear Dunes and he won't want to leave.
Will check in again tomorrow. Lynne

I did get togethers in both Mackinaw and Sleeping Bear. Thought Sleeping Bear had more to see.
We stayed at a resort in Sutton's Bay. Wild Cherry Resort. http://www.wildcherryresort.com/
So much to see and do in the area. Lots of Winery's.
You cannot go wrong with either location. May be easier to find a park near Sleeping Bear than Mackinaw.
One of my favorite places to visit is the Buckley Old Engine Show. https://www.buckleyoldengineshow.org/

Well, my 2 cents, we need to pick a date first! That lets us far away travelers get our airline tickets bought early! We were discussing this around the campfire this year, and were talking about making it earlier for 2020? We need to decide this first, what works for everyone?
Jira and I are good with what everyone decides about the dates, but we need to know them sooner than later! The longer we wait to decide this cost us lots of money!
Also, about choosing a CG, I like to be in trees and shade, rustic setting, not camping in a open field! FHU's is a must! So that rules out the many Michigan State Parks, unless there is some that have full hookup's? Like Carter Caves SP in Kentucky!
And getting us all together is also a must! And a good place for us to get together for our nightly campfires is also a must!
This year in Maine was perfect, close to everything, lots of trees, shade, nice sites, and a place for our nightly campfires!
So lets decide the dates! Then we can start looking for the CG!

Add at least 70' long pull thrus. For those of us with trailers. We are good with any dates in August. We have a rally in Branson the end of April beginning of May, then a reunion in Branson the middle of September.

Hello M&G,
July 29th to Aug 12th?
Aug 3rd to Aug 17th?
I always try to find trees since that is what most of us like. It is my preference too. I know the FHU's are a necessity. None of us want to unhook to empty tanks. Most state parks do NOT have FHU's so I usually don't look at these. Also look for 70 foot pull thru sites.
So pick a date and I will see if there are any events in the areas that might make booking a CG difficult.
Also, most winter based CG's close over the winter so we need to figure this out now or we will have to wait until Spring to book. Which is why I am working on it now.
Give me some ideas. Lynne

Indian River is the only one with 70' pull thru sites of the last 3 that you posted.
Either of the dates are good for us.
