Good Morning Everyone;
Yikes - such a simple fix. Battery isolator? Who would have thought. Simple fix could be to put a battery shutoff switch in place. Would mean you would have to shut if off each night and turn it on in the morning. Regardless it is working and I hope the rest the trip goes smoothly.

Had a good day of melting here. Supposed to rain later today so that should/could take care of most of the remaining snow.

Dr yesterday for annual checkup. She declared that I am alive so all must be good. When I interviewed her one of the critical checks was the size of her hands. Small hands - you're hired. She is a very good doctor and am really glad I am in her practice. Off to the lab for some tests.

It was great to hear the culprit was found !
I bet you are driving much more relaxed now .
The isolator is something that I never thought to mention even though I know they fail with age (just an automatic relay).
The shut off switch for the rear battery is a good idea for a quick fix .
You could also just leave the rear battery off the alternator charge and keep it charged by running the genny and charger when you are parked.

Gordon and the small handed lady, I think he must still have his tonsils.

As for the GT, I have this curve I take normally at 65 and anyone riding with has a pucker up moment, sometimes I'll do 70 alone. In the Mustang I went in at 75 and was moving up to 80 when I realized it was blind hitting the straight road and if one of our finest was there we would be two surprises, one for him when he saw the guy Gordon's age behind the wheel, and one for me, the judge has seen me before........

G'morning all, coffee weak this morning. I must have miscounted the scoops.

I discovered when unloading the coach from our weekend camping trip that my back is no longer liking carrying loads out in front of me anymore. Add another thing that I shouldn't be doing. Old age and years of abusing one's body eventually takes it's toll. The way I see it, it's a sign we should be full timing so I don't have transfer things back and forth.

In the most basic terms, the isolator protects the chassis battery and the house batteries from robbing power from each other. The switch you likely have on your dash somewhere that says "battery boost" allows you to temporarily jump start the chassis battery using the house batteries to provide power to turn over the engine.

If it is an electronic isolator it senses which batteries need charging. Meaning it charges either the house or chassis battery as needed.

Charles - device that will keep all the batteries charged when the engine is running but supposed to prevent the engine battery from feeding the house when the engine is not running.

Harvey - still have my tonsils, thank you very much. No plans of having them removed via the exhaust port! Small hands (read finger) are just . . . . . comfortable, nuff said.

BTW, you've never had your tonsils pulled until you've experienced waking up during the surgery, twice. Doc explained how they do it, cut about half way and then yank. What he didn't explain was that the roots are entangled in your hair.

I had one of those events where they give you the medicine to immobilize you but forget the pain killer. I was thirty at the time, too old even that young for that kind of fun.

We are on the downhill side! Oncologist gave us six months until the next visit. The radiology suggested a six month follow up and that works out perfectly with our schedule. A decision was even made to pull the port because of the difficulty of flushing it when we're out of range of Texas Oncology.

This is a good day.

We arrived home at 4pm this afternoon. 5,312 miles for our little loop. All things considered it went great.

Everything is green here, we missed the blooming dog woods and such. Our lawn is very high. Got a project there. We spent about 90 mins unpacking and decided to sit down and rest. We will go at it tomorrow.

Wonderful news Harvey. We are so pleased the testing is so good.

Snow is almost gone. More predicted however. Cleaned out the garage today so am ready for whatever comes.
