I don't know about the 5.9 in Ron's, the pickups came both ways, they also had lift pumps in the pickups. If there's a lift pump you activate it by bumping the starter briefly then it runs for like 20 seconds, if there's a bleeder on top of the water separator you can bleed it that way

Moose and a pair of calves in our back yard this morning. Browsing on our fruit trees. Looking very healthy.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just spoke to Ron, he unhooked the toad and drove to Wilcox Az, got the filters, a fuel can, and filter wrenches. He was driving back when we spoke, but needed to stop and get fuel in the can. Also got some fuel additive for anti gel, algae etc.

He confirmed, when he opened the drain on the fuel separator, nothing came out, just a wosh of air he thought was air going in.

Anyway, plan is to change the filters and try again. If no luck call a mechanic.

Ron,
I may be mistaken but I don't think your engine is a common rail fuel system, which means that you can use ATF to fill the filters.

Hello all,

Martha and I made it to Tucson yesterday. The current plan is to stay until Feb. 28th. We are going to drive to Quartzite for the RV show on the 19th and hopefully stay overnight somewhere. On the return we were thinking we might drop into Yuma and see everyone.

Not much else to report here. Ron, I sure hope you get things sorted soon.

Removed old fuel/water separator filter, filled new with diesel, re-installed. So far has not re-started. Called mobil mechanic, waiting on call back. They should be able to come out later today. Thanks again for all of the suggestions on getting this thing running.

51 degrees here now, 35 tonight. Beautiful day. Think I will see if that one cafe in town is open.

I echo Gordon's New Years wishes for everyone. BTW, the moose and calves would be a sight for (me)!

Good Morning Everyone! Happy New Year! Coffee is late today, will get a cup shortly!

Ron, watch this video,
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...A&&FORM=VRDGAR

Also, check the fuel filter on the passenger side of your motor, way up at the top, that is the one I pointed out to Terry on his 8.3!
The only time Mona would not start, that hidden filter, had worked loose, and you could see the fuel stains down the side of it, where the fuel was leaking out! Tightened it over a turn, and Mona fired right up!
You have air sucking in your system, somewhere, one way to find it, if it is a external line, filter, and it is letting the fuel drain back to your tank, is once you get it running, spray some starting fluid all around your filters, lines, connections, where your lines go up around the back of your head to the side to your injectors. If your motor speeds up, you have found where to look for a line that has rubbed a hole, a connection that is loose, filter that is loose, etc.
If you get it running, go ahead and make sure you have no leaks, and if not go ahead to Yuma, and you can get it fixed there, on your time!
There is a good shop I have used in the past, in Eloy, just across the street from the Pilot, same exit as the Flying J, if he is still in business!
Hope you get it running, good luck! Rail!
