got a vintage tow dolly
Wanted to get a dolly to bring a car along between our Georgie Boy. Found this deal on a used Demco. Got it for $300. Wife was not impressed with it's appearance. so I got busy and cleaned it up. so far it is just in primer while I decide what color to paint it.
Here's a couple pics--the 1st one is the before pic--My wife was not impressed!
The second one was after a good cleaning and sanding. I Primed it all Now just trying to decide what color to spray it. I am thinking red/black or Blue/white ???

I'd paint it to match the motor home or match the toad.

I painted the old U-haul dolly I bought the same color scheme as our MH. Ours had a surge brake system on it that did not work, but I replaced the unit on the tongue with a new one and everything else except the backing plates.
Electric brakes would be fairly easy to add to your unit if you need them.

You NEED them to be legal if ANY state you go into requires brakes on a dolly, not just your home state. There is no reciprocity on equipment laws, you have to be legal in every state you drive into.
Our Demco is galvanized (and has surge brakes) so I couldn't paint it if I wanted without a lot of prep work, not worth it.

Our car dolly is white, that is the way we ordered it, and what a mistake,,if it was black real easy to touch up,,if I had the time that is the color I would re-paint it.
just my thought

i did some painting on it yesterday, not sure I like it. So I am sure it will be getting redone. The wife on the other hand likes it, probably cuz it looks a WHOLE LOT better than the rust dolly I brought home.
I painted the whole thing International Tractor RED, because I had it on hand. then the ramps I sprayed with RHINO-LINER, like what is used in pick-up trucks.
At any rate it looks a whole lot better than it did, think the RED might be a little BOLD. We will use it the way it is for this season, then maybe a different color combo in the future.
I have to take some pics and I'll post later after I tinker with the Generator issues
