I have heat now

So once I got the furnace re installed I rebuilt
The stand for the regulator and tank tie down.
Much nicer! Then i check for leaks. None
Found. Turn on gas...Check....flip gas switch on
furnace...Check...turn up thermostat...Check.
Fan running. Not. Get frustrated and smack
Furnace...Check.
Then I took the thermostat wires and tied them
Together. Fan on...CHECK! Wait 20 second seconds ignition...CHECK! Houston we got

HEAT! Thanks to all who gave advice on this
problem. Going to the orange box store to buy
A new thermostat.

Are you in real cold weather?? Follow me here. The furnace has an over heat sensor in the fire box.(400 degree) Even if everything in your unit is plumbed with good ducting and NO restrictions the box will over heat. The fire will go off. Switch cools down and gas comes back on with ignition. The BOARD allows the heater to do this 6 TIMES, AFTER 6 times, it times out for 1 hour. FAN KEEPS RUNNING.(cold air) If the thermostat temp is met before the 6th relight, every thing is cherry. In COLD weather, I bump the temp up 4 degrees above starting temp. Then bump it up 4 degrees again till I get it up to where I want it. The other way to beat the system is to put a toggle switch in series with the heater fuse. Heater starts to blow cold after 6 tries, and I switch the power off to the heater and board. Board resets and you have 6 more sequences to get up to temp. For now ,(Pull the fuse and replace it) Hope this is your problem. this is the fix.

Mine was doing that was told that I needed a new control board and it would take 3 to 4 weeks to get it
I just kept using it. Sometimes it doesn't relight I slide the lever to the off position turn the switch on the thermostat off for 30 seconds or so turn the switch back on and set the temperature

These old units need TLC

Snuffy. Google Dinasour board, Get it overnight, around 100.00. Trust me, they kick out 6 times then time out for 1 hr. Suburban told me that my duct works was restricted. The heater was setting on a test bench with no ducting at all. Wide open. Tech at Dinasour told me about the time out feature in the boards. Tech support at Suburban had no idea that the board did that. This is why when your heater wont work and you take it in for repair it is working fine. The 1 hr time out has passed. I did replumb all my ducts with 4 inch dryer vent tubing. Raised my temp at the closest floor vent from 108f to 127f.

Thank you I'll check that out
I never counted the cycling but t makes sense. It works fine then cold air leavening off for a while it works again.
I don't think I need a new board after all it was a RV repairman that told me I did. He probably doesn't know about the cycling
Thanks agan
