Ignition fuse blowout problem on 1991 Bounder

I'm having an electrical fuse failure on my 1991 Bounder RV on the ignition, and I'm trying to find the CPU. I am a mechanic but I cannot find a solution to the fuse blowing out. Have traced the wire from the fuse block to the outlet through the firewall. Need input, please.

Welcome to iRV2.

Could you provide more info on your coach .
Chassis manufacturer ?
Engine ? Gas ? Diesel ?
Fuse blows as soon as ignition turned on ? Or when you try to start ?
By CPU do you mean the engines Electronic Control Module .ECM ?

Thanks for the reply, Skip. It's a 1990 Chevy P30 chassis with 454 cu.in. gas motor. The fuse blows as soon as I turn the key on. There is a dead short after it passes through the firewall. Trying to find a way to bypass this, to run the wire from the fuse panel to the control module (yes, a friend called it cpu - assume it's the same thing.) The bypass is because there is absolutely no access to the wires after they pass through the firewall. The wire is pink with a black stripe coming off the fuse panel, and I tried cutting wire and picking up the same color wire going to the electronic control, and it didn't work. Is there another wire coming out of the ecm that the bypass could be connected to? Appreciate the help!

I'll see if I can track down a picture of the ECM , for that vintage of chassis , so at least you'll know what you looking for to disconnect it to rule out an internal problem.
