Ladder capacity? [emoji50][emoji23]

I’ve gained a couple pounds since my first motor home.
I’m 275 now. My question is what is the weight capacity of the ladder to climb on top?
I’ve already had two hip replacements and don’t want any more.
Is it safe? [emoji23]

300#

Problem not so much with the 'ladder' but do you really trust the mounting points?

I was 285# during our 7 yrs of FT travel.
I climbed up that ladder weekly to clear slideout roofs before retracting

Each and every time I did I questioned WHEN were those attachment points going to giveway, pull loose, snap off.

Now.......if I need to do anything up on roof I use another sturdier ladder

I use this to get to the top of my RV and 9.5’ cargo container. Rated for 330# (even though I’m only about half that) it feels safer.

I agree. The ladder wasn't so bad - the flexing of the rear cap was bothersome though...now carry a Little Giant ladder (heavy darn thing but sure sturdy).

How do you protect the side of your MH when you lean this against it?

I wrap a large folded towel around the top of the ladder where it contacts the motorhome. I get about 4 to 6 layers of towel between the ladder and motorhome. Works good for me.

Whoever installed my ladder 26 years ago inserted the rivets in the holes. Didn't do anything else, just inserted them. Someone later gooped up the brackets.

I'll go up in a hair-on-fire emergency since the upper brackets are actually through-bolted but not otherwise.

I read way back that a fall off an RV roof is a total game-changer. I've known a guy who fell off an RV roof and a guy who fell from a masthead. Neither were happy campers.
