When I had my last Colonoscopy, just before I went under, the Dr requested 8 pictures during the exam. I asked him for an additional photo of the team, taken from inside, looking out… I don’t know his reply.

The windows and cabinets are in. We’ll pick up the doors Tuesday because they had to be rehung on 6” frames instead of the 4”. We have 6” exterior walls.

The shiplap boards are also in. I grabbed this unit with the skid steer and it was obvious it was much heavier than I expected. It has 128 ten foot boards, 198 eight footers, and some six footers in the bundle. I wanted the 6” width instead of the eight inch because of aesthetics. I like the smaller board look.

We have enough for 2100 square foot of coverage allegedly. The other unit is all eight footers.

There will be waste and that will cut down on coverage.

The newest version of prep is no solids today with clear liquids all I want. Then at 6 pm we start the purging process. I can hardly wait. The procedure is scheduled for 8:30 am with a show up at the hospital at 7 am tomorrow morning.

Yesterday was a physically tough day on all of us. We’re working on the roof over the apartment. I’m no longer using the fall protection because I’m comfortable with the roof now. Plus we’re three foot shorter roof than when working on the barn part.

We’re taking advantage of cuz and her husband’s help while we have it. He said he was out of here first copperhead encounter. The cats got the message and are doing their part to keep the snakes hidden.

Today will be another tough one on the roof. It’s what we do.

Barnie is dour glower girl. She is a different kind of cat. She’s tried replacing Heidi as alpha cat Heidi has finally had enough and slap fights have escalated to dominance demonstrations.

I picked up the torch cord for the tig machine from a bud after he checked it out. Lincoln Invertec 205 a/c d/c hasn’t worked since the move. He found nothing wrong in the cord but it now works, good day, we now can add tig welding to our solutions.

Looks like the barn is coming right along on schedule, even in this Messed Up World.
We have been trying to get out remodel and new roof on our house since spring, and with any luck they will start on it in 2 weeks. But, some of the siding on the lower edges got damaged in a Hail Storm last Winter and apparently it's made out of Unobtainium!

Here's a prayer for you that they don't find anything that doesn't belong in there.

Lesson learned

When I have my next roof done I need to save any left over shingles. Any work I have done the installer needs to leave extra materials even if it is only a partial bundle.

I have always over bought shingles and this time we ran out. Had 3 squares for spares! The last roof only lasted 8 years..... And we have been patching it for most of those 8 years too! The wind out here can get NUTS.... I have no trees to slow it down.

And of course the shingle pattern & style have been discontinued, so we are missing a few now.
3 squares USED UP patching.

This new roof will have shingles made of recyceled tires and be tougher than mud flaps on a Semi Truck. On;y better looking.

Ypu'll remember I fell off my 3 story roof 2 years ago trying to set up my scafffoldomg to patch it for the unteenth time. Needless to say I now pay people dunber than me to do that kind of work. Mainly because my feet can't walk that steeppf an inc;ime anymore.

Excuse the typoes if I missed some. Porcha the cat decided to walk on my keynoard just now!

Good Morning Ya'll!

The visit with the plumber went fine for what it was. He found two polyps so we get to do it all over again in five years.

We used a new to us system for the clean out process. Sunday, nothing but clear liquids. Then 6:00 pm 16 oz of water with twelve horse pills. Hour later more water, more water 1/2 hour after that. Midnight we repeated the process. The last serious visit with the throne was 4 am. 10:30 am we left the hospital more than a little tired. Breakfast and a nap later we were getting after it.

Evidently I did something too much and or the plumber left a tool or three on the job. I'll call this morning to see if he's missing a large pipe wrench, maybe a pipe cutter or reamer isn't in the tool box this morning. Yeah, I'm walking that walk.

Yesterday the roofing contractor that sold us the materials came by again with a new employee to show off the job. It's great for the ego to hear the experts make positive comments about the progress. He did give me a bit of bad news. The current rate for replacing my roof if something took it out is $1,200.00 a square. That works out to more than I have in the building all together now. USAA wants an estimate of replacement cost to insure it. I'm not sure I can afford that after all is said and done.

We're making great progress, everything we've purchased so far is in the barn part so all that is left is getting it done.

IRV2 says I have posted the limit on photos we will not have any more of that I guess.

Y'all be kind.

45º with light rain. It’s been light rain all night with occasional showers, supposed to continue today with rain stopping by late afternoon. High of 48º doesn’t sound good, but it is what it is. We’ve got plenty to do that can be done in the dry of the barn so it won’t be a wasted day. They’re talking a freeze by the end of the week. Oh joy.

I have one spot by the little house looking at the barndominium where I’ve tried to take the same photo over the last couple of years. It’s my go to spot on the photos app when I feel overwhelmed with the work ahead. Who would have thunk?

To many cat pictures? Keep them coming.
I post picture using imgur.com for a couple of years. No limit on what you can post on iRV2.

Today was a tough one. It started off wet and cold and them migrated colder, a very damp cold that goes into the marrow of the bones. Mid forties of that kind of cold seems to be more miserable than real cold.

One of the custom pieces we had to make was the Z pieces that block the standing seam gap at the ridge cap. They also secure the ridge cap without visible fasteners. We had previously cut material from scrap pieces of the roofing material. Today we cut it into desired size and then made the two 90º breaks. It took a bit to get it down to a system but once we did seventy pieces were done efficiently and quickly. Cuz in law is great help. I could have done it without him but it wouldn’t have been near as fast or as much fun.

We start a warming trend tomorrow and I’m ready for it. I felt like I had been ran over by a truck and didn’t attribute it to day two after the booster shot until others were complaining about their reactions. I’m really lucky the truck was closer to being a Tonka than a Peterbuilt.

Be kind, the jerk might be just having a bad day.
