Lights pulsing. Help???

Yet another problem. When head lights are on at night I noticed they pulse. Thought my alternator was going bad so I replaced it. Know wondering if there is a voltage regulator on these things ( 85 itasca sunflyer). There's a few components I can't identify on this rig. Looked for broken or missing ground strap but don't see one.

Did you check for voltage output before you replaced the alt ?
Voltage at the batteries , at the lights, through the headlight and dimmer switches , any relays involved in the headlight wiring ?
Check the headlight ground wires.
Chevy engine , Delco alt ?

Yes Chevy 454. Delco alt. the alternator was a little weak. Only putting out about 12.5 volts unless you revved up the engine. Now out put it pulsing 14-15 vdc. At idle speed it's a little less. But just a little. Seems like either a ground is off / broken or the regulator isn't working properly.

The supplier of the alt, should be able to tell you from the P/N if the alt is internally regulated, and what the out put volts should be . I'm thinking 14.2> 14.4 MAX. Are your batteries good ? Connections clean ? If the alt's internal reg. can't get a good reading on the voltage in the batteries then they will run wild and overcharge .

Replaced my batteries today. (House) and the pulsing seems to have stopped. Must have been some bad connections in there some where.
