Looking for other Mallard Sprinter Owners

I was just wondering if there were any other Mallard Sprinter owners out there. I have a 1987 Mallard Sprinter 24 footer on a Ford F-350 chassis with a 460 motor with 66,000 original miles on it, that I am trying to renovate, and am finding new issues the more I dig into the renovations.

You might want to check the owners forum section. I'm not to sure who made the mallards back then. With any luck someone will help you out. You can also use the search and look for Class C upgrades and or repairs. Good Luck and be sure to take pics as you go with the work.

1990 27ft sprinter owner here

I have owned mine for a little over a year. We have been working on pulling it out of the grave. It has been a little bit of a challenge but we wintered in Texas last winter and plan on bringing it back there from Wisconsin again.

Please check back with me in about a month (late Aug-early Sept 2017) if you're still looking for Mallard owners...I'm very close to buying a 1990 Mallard Sprinter Class A...thanks!

Do you still have the Mallard Sprinter, and if so, how's the work coming along? I'd be grateful if you'd be willing to share the particular issues you've come across. I've got my eye on a 1990 model but have some reservations--don't want to end up with a "bargain" that turns into a money pit. Wondering if that's inevitable when purchasing an older motorhome, or if the Mallard is worse than average...thanks.

You will find that your systems are pretty much universal. I wouldn't worry so much about the brand as much as the individual components. There is a wealth of information in the forum archives. I have done a complete rehab on several units. The main bonus is that you can have it your way: any way you want it. First task: look for leaks & rot. Have fun with your project!
