Need torque for control arms 88 Itasca Suncruiser

Every last component of the front suspension except the steering gear was removed and rebuilt.

Finding correct parts was a chore as a unit with rear disk brakes has some different components in front. The lower control arms are a good example as they do not use U-bolts but 4 9/16 bolts through the control arm shaft and through the cross member. I'm trying to find torque specs for the upper and lower control arms to attach them but the only information I find is for a U-bolt setup. Sometimes I've felt I've been working on a log truck.

Thanks for any reference or pointers to.

If yours has the P30 Chassis you can look at the following manual and go to Appendix C : https://www.gmcmi.com/wp-content/upl...sis-Manual.pdf

If you have some other Chassis then you will have to find that Chassis' Service Manual.

Good Luck!

It is a P30 (or P32 depending on what camp your in) Should have mentioned that.
I have standard torque charts, but where it got a little gray was that the charts were saying one thing for dry, another for lubricated and nothing for the fact that these control arms use C lock nuts which creates some drag. Though the chart says that I would use 170ft/lbs for the A-frame bolts so I may be overthinking it.

One would think a grade 8 bolt that size (9/16) with a C nut lock and 170lbs would stay put.

If I'm not mistaken. A P-30 has rear drum brakes and a P-32 has rear disc brakes

That is correct. I've found that the front lower control arms are also different (very heavy duty).
