I am a newbie here. Been trolling a bit because there is so much to read and learn from here. Both of you are great innovative, craftsmen. I am 75 disabled and bought a 1994 35D I believe it’s a vacationer. Plans are to fill our bucket list. $$ was tight so I shopped for a few months. We were elated when I found the diesel because. I worry when crawling over the doghouse. Next we can’t stand in a shower long enough to get started on the “clean” thing. Also I have Crohn’s desease and need facilities close by. Well it runs great, new tires, but I couldn’t get on the ladder to see the roof. Darn it has problems on the roof(a friend did a 3day scrap, patch (4” ultra bond) Dicor self leveling , 4 coats Of plasti cote. And we both think the roof is sealed. I wish I was in my 50s I would do a complete new roof. Next the walls are saturated. I would love to do the job from the inside remodeling as I progress. But it can’t happen. So I may try a ventilation fan or more in high in the walls with a couple screened vents on the lower outside panels running 24 x 7. We had 1 1/2 weeks of daily rains and I discovered luan partials hanging on the bottom of the outside panels. So this is a handicap attempt to bandage it. I need 3 surgeries over the winter and hope it helps me to remove inner panniling and try some ideas of how to repair it without removing outer siding. Corrosion of the alumin doesn’t seem too serious maybe I can neutralize it, then remove rivets to loosen it enough to clean the framework and re rivit next year. For now I hope to make a 4000 mile trip to see my family in Massachusetts. And possibly Oregon early next summer. I was not able to drive for a couple years, but can now. I was a truck driver for many years, but not at all recently. This is gonna be a relearning curve. Any way both of you are an inspiration to many.
By the way I had a 71 Winni chieftain back in the early 70s it never once broke down.
